How do I pray salah step by step?
To pray salah you face the qibla with wudu, make the intention, raise your hands for the opening takbir, recite standing, bow in ruku, prostrate twice in sujud, and finish with the tashahhud and the salam.
- Prepare and face the qiblaMake sure you have wudu, your place and clothes are clean, and you are facing the qibla. Use the compass if you are somewhere unfamiliar.
- Intention and opening takbirIntend the prayer you are about to perform, raise your hands and say Allahu Akbar. From this moment you are in prayer.
- Standing and recitationRecite al-Fatiha, then a short passage of the Quran. Pray Assist shows the Arabic, the transliteration and the meaning if you are still learning them.
- Ruku and sujudBow with your back level, saying the tasbih of ruku, stand again, then prostrate twice with the tasbih of sujud, sitting briefly between the two.
- Finish the prayerComplete the remaining rakats the same way, sit for the tashahhud and the salawat, and end by turning your head right and left with the salam.
