Method you can choose. One fixed calculation cannot serve every country; you should be able to pick and then nudge each prayer by a minute or two.
Notifications that arrive. A prayer time app that is silent when your phone is locked has failed at its one job.
Offline. Times are astronomy, not a web service. They should be there on a plane and in a basement.
